The Electrical/Electronic Technologist will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and reworking electronic components and systems to ensure they meet our stringent quality standards. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and functionality of our products, enabling us to deliver high-quality solutions to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment.

The Electrical/Electronic Technologist will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and reworking electronic components and systems to ensure they meet our stringent quality standards. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and functionality of our products, enabling us to deliver high-quality solutions to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Diagnostics:
- Perform detailed diagnostics on electronic components and systems to identify faults, malfunctions, or performance issues.
- Utilize testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers to evaluate circuit functionality.
- Document diagnostic findings and communicate results to the engineering and quality assurance teams.
- Liaise with design engineers to feedback common and repetitive issues to assist in improving product performance.
- Rework & Repair:
- Conduct rework and repair on PCBs, connectors, and other electronic components, following industry standards and company procedures.
- Solder and desolder components as required, ensuring precision and reliability.
- Perform firmware updates and configuration changes to resolve issues identified during diagnostics.
- Quality Assurance:
- Assist in the development and execution of testing protocols to verify the functionality and reliability of reworked products.
- Maintain accurate records of rework and repair activities, including component traceability and test results.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Inventory & Tools Management:
- Manage and maintain tools and equipment used for diagnostics and rework, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Keep an organized inventory of spare parts, components, and materials used in the rework process.
- Support & Collaboration:
- Work closely with the R&D and manufacturing teams to provide technical support during product development and production phases to include product functional testing and reliability testing.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on process improvements and technical challenges.
- Will be required to support reliability testing setup, monitoring and reporting results.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Education & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in electronic diagnostics, repair, and rework in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electronic schematics and technical drawings.
- Strong hands-on experience with soldering, desoldering, and rework of SMT and through-hole components.
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Certifications:
- IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification is a plus.
